confettiMagic Confetti!

God blessed us with a townhouse near Magic Kingdom that has a bit more space than our family needs. As a result, we’ve been blessed to add roommates to our home! We have been privileged to have Rachel, a Cast Member from Arizona as part of our family for the last six months. As she wraps up her stay she has compiled a list of things she wanted to do before leaving. We have spent as much time possible with her to help her achieve that goal.
On one of those outings, we watched the Move It, Shake It, Celebrate It Parade. There is a point where this fantastic Mickey confetti is shot out over the crowd. Seriously, this confetti is awesome. I’d love to cover a wall in my house with it. I kid you not, I watched several adults crawling on the street to collect them…several adults racing to get them before other children…SEVERAL ADULTS!Anyway, my children were no different. They collected as many as they could and held on to them. Secretly in the back of my mind I’m thinking, “I’m going to have to clean these out of the van soon.” But I let them collect them anyway. I mean…such a small thing brought such a sweet smile to their faces…why not? After the parade we got them a promised Mickey Bar, and then something sincerely magical happened. Karisma gave the Cast Member working the stand a Mickey confetti. The girl graciously accepted it and smiled so brightly. We sat down to enjoy our ice cream, and afterwards Karisma asked if she could go over to some CM’s working the welcome desk at The Plaza Restaurant some confetti. There were 3 ladies working and helping some other guests so I said no. Karisma caught it and said, “No, mommy, I mean, I will wait until they are not busy helping people before I give it to them.”

A few things occurred to me at that moment.
1. My kids are a vital part of the ministry we are doing here. We are determined that they will be a part of this ministry to which God has called us!
2. They GET it and are beginning to do it on their own without our prompting!
3. They know how to do it properly without interrupting CM’s providing other guests with excellent service.

She passed out all of her confetti to CM’s as we left the park and talked non-stop about how happy they seemed to be. One CM (cleaning the streets) who is also a teacher said she was going to put that confetti on her desk in her classroom.

You guys, it was a piece of plastic off of the street at a place where they work everyday. But you would have thought we gave them pure gold.

I’m so proud of my girl today, and am seeing God do some amazing things in her little life.
